3 exams done.. and got an A on my NGT insertion/removal check off.

my test scores so far:

78% in Theory

86% in Skills

87% in Pharm

so far so good... 

and now i have a test next week..

and a test the following week after..

im so sleep deprived..

i forgot to mention from my last blog but i was too sleepy to type more lol.

when i was in ER, this man nurse who was pretty good at teaching asked me if i could hold this elder man's arm so he can draw blood since the patient was very shakey.

him: are you alright baby?

me: *acts like i didnt hear that*

him: is it alright if i call you baby?

me: hmm? oh i thought you were talking to the patient! xD

him: *starts laughing*

and when i tell Jay this, he sarcastically accuses me of flirting -___-"

lol.. 

studying for pharm sucks... its my worst subject. its mostly memorization and a butt load of it!

i guess the mini-cruise for Jay and his sister's combined bday celebration got cancelled cause not enough ppl (they need 20+ ppl in order to cruise)

we might switch to direct tv instead of comcast. comcast is now $150 since its been a year now... and internet is $30... and direct tv is just around $40 and comes with free DVR and prolly get u-verse for internet for around $15 that comes with home phone (which we dont need)

crazy a year has passed already! i felt like i moved into this apartment just some months ago lol. crazy to think that i moved in with this guy after 3 or 4 months of going out xD.. 

i did a straight urinary catheter today on a male patient to get a sterile urine sample. 

yes, i touched his penis. it was the first time for me to touch someone else's LOL.. but Jay can't get mad ;D 

and oh man, the patient was soooooo yellow!! i dont mean asian yellow.. lol. cus he has liver failure [jaundice]. he came in tho cus he had a stroke. 

i've mostly had female pts for some reason back at sutter delta. 

i LOVE kaiser! most ppl are friendly! the charting system on the computer is great! theres room to sit down!

i was in ER today and my nurse didnt really let me be hands on :/... but Jessica [one of my classmates], her nurse was letting her do almost ANYTHING! even giving meds via IV!! which we havent even been checked off on [i think we will NEXT semester]. so when i went to help Jessica, her nurse, Cheryl grabs me and lets me do it too. i really like her :] she let me give an antibiotic via IV. we could get in trouble if our instructors found out lol.. and Cheryl let me chart, and let me scan ID bands of the pt and scan meds. my nurse didnt really do much for me :/

man i really dont notice things with my classmates like... Veronica and Jessica were talking sh*t behind Audrey's back saying that she is so self absorbed. but i was like, huh?? she is?? lol. i mean, i notice she likes to tell us her experiences or someone she knows... but, i dont care. i like to hear ppl's stories. 

yesterday, a family from Jay's church came into ER, something wrong with their baby. and i know this baby! ive held him b4 and he's sooooo cute!! but he was flushed red, had a fever, and lil breathing problems. made me teary and he's only 6 months. he was sooo scared and crying..

anyways, time to catch up on sleep. 

the worst place to get a paper cut is your pointing finger of your dominant hand -____-... and i got cut by toasted bread.. >.<

anyways

its so funny when Jay asks..

"do you want to order pizza?"

"are you hungry?"

"do you want the meal?"

"do you want fries with that?"

"do you want ______ (etc)?"

and i reply with..

"why???"

and Jay responds..

"wth kind of question is that?? D:<"

hahahahaha

i dunno why its like a reflex now @.@... and sometimes its just to annoy him hahaha.. im so mean..

you know those pictures with "what society/parents/friends/i think(s) i do" as a... (nurse, artist, college student, etc)..

i wish there was one for nursing students. lol

anyways..... back to studying

so i found out that my grandpa and his siblings were adopted by their uncle [from my dad's side...] so if they werent adopted, then my last name wouldve been Liu.

its funny to think back of my relationship w/ Jay like when..

b4 we went out, when he was "wooing" me [lol], whenever i ask for a back massage, he'd be up and ready to go with it, even tho he has arthritis.

but.. NOW, he wouldnt be, and be like.. "sigh... -___-" lol

but at least we have back massagers now. but still!! hymph! xD

it still gives me warm feelings when ever we go out [even to just walmart], as he walks in front of me, he always reaches his hand back waiting for me to grab it. 

and its funny when i get irritated at him and he knows it, i yell at him saying "I LOVE YOU!! >:|" and it breaks the ice.

-go to parent's house to make a genogram [family tree of 3 generations and who had illnesses/diseases]

i was bad yesterday and watched The Vow w/ Jay at night after i was done studying for my skills test thats coming up.. i was spose to make flash cards for pharm, but i REALLY REALLY wanted to watch this chick flick!!! even tho Jay just wanted to stay home and rest.. but i made a pouty face xD

wow it was sold out at Pittsburg Brenden @.@.. but not at AMC. 

it was good! i give it a 7.5/10, Jay liked it too.

there was a few parts i was a lil teary. like omgah what if that happened to Jay and me D:

on the way home, i was thinking and telling Jay..

me: my mom's voice is like.. kinda squeeky right? and then mine is just, really squeeky!.. what if.. our baby was like.. hamster squeeky!?!? D:

Jay: >.>"...

me: or.. or what if, the reverse happens, and our baby has a really deep monotone voice.. like.. GOO GOO GA GA! ahahahahahaha!!!!

Jay: wth LOL, it would be from your side of the family

oh man, that was soo funny.. it doesnt sound as funny reading it, but one day ill tell you how it would sound xD

dang.. reading 16 text book pages took me 2 hours hahaha.. cause of distractions..

like.. read read... falling asleep..... wake.. read read... falling asleep... wake.. turn on music.. sometimes sings and takes me longer to read... phone text... texting back.. back and forth lol... read.... fb... etc

-____-... so what would take me maybe half an hour or 45 mins at most w/o any distractions, but no, it takes me 2 hours LOL.. stupid distractions...

i got a solid 75% on my test today. so i passed. waiting for them to drop questions.. a lot of them were dumb questions -___-.. i mean, phrased badly or few of them had same answers or all wrong answers -_-"

starting clinicals soon at kaiser antioch. yay

did you know that there is a type of drug to induce you when going thru surgery, but the only thing it does for you is that it paralyzes your WHOLE body, it does not block the pain receptors tho, but your mind is still alert? so.. if you didnt have some kind of pain med along with that other med, you'd feel ALL that pain under the needle. yikes!

and there have been cases where doctors mistaken meds and the patient felt EVERYTHING. 

i remember watching a movie where that happened... 

to my question.. cause for 2 days now, ive been drinking 6-8 cups of water... but all of a sudden i gained some pounds! D:

i mean.. i was urinating a lot cause of the large consumption of water.. so i googled and googled and found my answer.
